Se afastam dos brancos, de suas doenças, massacres e da destruição das florestas. Os Wajãpi têm uma longa história de utilização de corantes vegetais para enfeitar seus corpos com motivos geométricos e símbolos. Ao longo dos séculos, eles desenvolveram um sistema de comunicação único - uma mistura rica de componentes gráficos e verbais e que reflete a sua visão de mundo.
In the north of the Amazon, in one of the most inaccessible forests in Brazil, the Wajapi Indians live an existence without modern influence. They turn away from whites, from their illnesses, massacres and the destruction of forests.Wajãpi have a long history of using natural dyes to decorate their bodies with geometric motifs and symbols. Over the centuries, they have developed a unique communication system - a rich mix of graphic and verbal components that reflects their worldview.
